Quickly remove or delete all empty rows and columns from all tables in Word

Deleting a single empty row or column in a Word document is easy. But what if you have multiple tables containing many empty or duplicate rows and columns? Removing these manually is tedious and error-prone. With Kutools for Word's Delete Blank Rows/Columns utility, you can quickly remove all empty or duplicate rows and columns from tables in your entire document or just a selected portion.

Remove All Empty Rows or Columns from Tables
To remove all empty rows or columns from tables within a selected range or throughout your entire Word document, follow these steps:
1. To remove empty rows or columns from tables within a specific range, select the tables first.
2. Click Kutools Plus > Table > Delete Blank Rows/Columns.
3. In the Delete Blank or Duplicate Rows/Columns in Table dialog box, set the following:
(1). In the Look in dropdown, choose either Selected table or All tables in active document as needed.
(2). Under Delete type, choose Row or Column.
(3). Under Detailed type, select Blank row or Blank column.
(4). Click OK.
4. A confirmation dialog appears, displaying the number of tables processed. Click OK.
📌 Result: All empty rows or columns are instantly removed from the selected range or the entire document.
Remove All Duplicate Rows or Columns from Tables
To quickly remove duplicate rows or columns from tables within a selected range or throughout your entire document, follow these precise steps:
1. To remove duplicate rows or columns from specific tables only, first select those tables.
2. Click Kutools Plus > Table > Delete Blank Rows/Columns.
3. In the Delete Blank or Duplicate Rows/Columns in Table dialog box, configure the following:
(1). In Look in dropdown, select either Selected table or All tables in active document.
(2). Under Delete type, choose Row or Column as required.
(3). Under Detailed type, select Duplicate row or Duplicate column.
(4). Click OK.
4. A confirmation dialog appears, indicating how many tables have been processed. Click OK.
📌 Result: All duplicate rows or columns are quickly removed from the selected tables or the entire document.
Tips:
- Check Case sensitive in the dialog box if you want duplicate removal to consider letter casing.
- Select Delete blank rows to simultaneously remove empty and duplicate rows or columns.
